Edmonton (elevation 668 metres / 2,192 feet ) is the capital of the province of Alberta, Canada. The City of Edmonton encompasses a land area of 700 square kilometers or 270 square miles. Located 280 km North of Calgary, Edmonton is situated on VIA Rail’s “The Canadian” route, which travels from Toronto to Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Jasper and Vancouver.
