Electrical Designer/Technologist - Vancouver, BC

Position:

Our Vancouver office, located on Annacis Island, is currently celebrating 20 years of service to the West Coast Region. Due to market growth, we are seeking applicants for the position of Electrical Designer/Technologist. This is an intermediate level, full-time position. You will be expected to work in a team environment to develop electrical designs for our projects.

You must be able to work with minimum supervision, however recognizing and utilizing the abilities and resources at hand within other team members.

Responsibilities will include:

• Electrical design role in large sized industrial projects
• Design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems
• 600V MCC's and variable frequency drives
• Preparation of motor and cable tray layout drawings
• Sizing of motor and power cables
• Electrical room layout drawings
• Lighting layout drawings
• Technical review of vendor drawings
• Construction support and commissioning assistance
• Must have AutoCAD skills
  

Requirements:

The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years electrical design experience. A thorough knowledge of schematics, wiring and cable systems, control system components, and power systems is required. Individuals must have good oral and written communications skills. Experience in the hydro power generation or mining industry would be an asset.
