Engineering Manager - Dartmouth, NS

Position:

The Engineering Manager residing in our Dartmouth office has responsibility for managing our Saint John, NB office, and is a key player on the management team. As the lead technical resource, this person will be conducting, overseeing and managing the engineering design and delivery of projects and supporting the technical preparation of proposals. The Engineering Manager is experienced in front-end aspects of industrial power and control system design and implementation. Strong technical application knowledge in Process Controls, DCS, Electrical and Automation is a must.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitors man-hour usage and progress on the project; takes corrective action where necessary to control engineering work within budget and schedule
  • Monitoring of project financial data, leading team meetings, reporting on project status to stakeholders and assisting with chairing executive meetings.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering related materials, common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • QA/QC for your team (Dartmouth, NS and Saint John, NB)
  • Executes needed change; highly adaptive and able to inspire direct reports towards high performance and contributes to a positive professional work environment.
  • Indentify, pursue, capture and implement new strategic business relationships achieving revenue growth.
  • Ensures that engineering work on the project is completed in accordance with Hinz Project Management methodologies.
  • Oversees operations of the panel and fabrication department.

  • Ability to travel (25%)

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university
  • Registered or eligible for registration with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Nova Scotia. APENB, PEPEI, PEGNL an asset.
  • A minimum of 10+ years experience in industrial electric power, Instrumentation and Controls fields.
  • Solid Project Management experience with PMI or PMP an asset.
